My 5th grade artists have been collaborating and creating apps in art class. They communicated their ideas by writing about the purpose of their apps and app features. See icon artwork and app descriptions in student art galleries on Artsonia

Some students were able to participate in a Skype video call with app developer, James Alliban, from London (featured above)!
James Alliban invented a couple of apps that we have worked with in the art room:
Composite itunes.apple.com/us/app/composite/id455051313?mt=8
and
Konstruct
itunes.apple.com/us/app/konstruct/id426861175?mt=8
Students were thrilled to be able to talk to Mr. Alliban about what it takes to be an app developer. It was pretty incredible for them to be able to get feedback on their ideas as well. Thank you Mr. Alliban for taking the time to speak to us and offer such wonderful insight!
